Ngakpa Sensei Charles M. Crist

Ngakpa Sensei is Cheif Instructor of Dharmakaya Aikido and Principle Advisor of The Dharmakaya Spiritual Health Ministry and Reikido.

Ngakpa Sensei has practiced the art of Kinjote Taijutsu (combat body movements in respect to the sword, jo and empty hands) for over 20 years and employed those skills as Infantryman in the United States Army during pre-war strategics in the Middle East. He has first hand experience of military operations in urbanized terrains specializing in close quarter combat including bladed weaponry.

After his military service he searched for a non-violent form of self defense which maintained the martial effectiveness of Kinjote Taijutsu. He found such an art in Karl Geis' KiHara Aikido under direct guidance of Sensei Kevin J. Anderson of Vero Beach Aikido.

Hachidan (8th degree black belt) - Kinjote Aiki Taijutsu

Nidan (2nd degree black belt) - KiHara Aikido

Shodan (1st degree black belt) - Ko Chin Do Karate

 

 

What is a Ngakpa?

Ngakpas are non-monastic practioners of such disciplines as Vajrayana, Tantrayana, Mantrayana and Dzogchen amongst other traditions, disciplines, and arts. Significant lineage transmission is through oral lore. Traditionally Ngakpas sport uncut, loosely worn hair. A Ngakpa may also be deemed anyone thoroughly immersed and engaged in practice of the teachings and under the guidance of a true lineage holder, and who has taken the appropriate vows or samaya and the associated empowerments and transmissions.

 

What does "Sensei" mean?

Sensei is a japanese title used to refer to or address teachers. It is also used to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery in an art form or some other skill.
